Composite lumber is not only environmentally friendly it also creates a softer contact sound when applied to wind chime tubing. In corrosive environments, like coastal areas, the chimes will maintain a high luster if treated semi-annually with a protective lubricant such as gun oil or silicon spray. If cleaning is desired, we suggest that you use a nonmetallic scouring pad. Do not use steel wool. All chimes made after 2004 will carry a 10 year guarantee due to product improvements. Exposure to harsh elements will eventually affect even the highest quality materials. That is why Grace Note Wind chimes offer a complete wind chime repair.
