    Description

    Navajo Rug
    Third Phase Chief's Blanket Style
    Contemporary
This is a stunning new Navajo weaving in the style of a Navajo, Third Phase, Chief's blanket. The
Third Phase is generally dated to 1860-1880. The weaving has the traditional, classic, black stripes accentuated with serrated triangles which identifies it as Third Phase. Colors are white, black, red and gray. Antique Third Phase Chief's blankets can sell for ,000 to ,000. Please compare with similars.
Weaving measures approx. 48" by 50". Weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces of pure wool. Condition is new, spotless, no signs of use, hand crafted, just off the loom. There are two, subtle, shade variations in the red yarn and lazy lines in the piece. Has Navajo selvage with black wool tufts at corners. The slight variations in the red yarn with the hint of red in the white wool and the soft, supple, nature of the wool leads me to believe the yarn was processed on the reservation and is from Navajo Churro sheep. Authentic.
I'm thinking that most will hang this Navajo weaving on their home or office wall. It will be a wonderful addition to your collection and a stunning statement wherever you choose to display it. The gift of a new Navajo weaving is always special
    .
