    Description

This is a vintage Navajo throw rug that shows its age but is beautiful nonetheless. The colors are a berry red, grays and black, with creamy white. Fair condition. No holes or bleeds but a fair amount of dirt spots and the color appears to be faded on one side. It definitely could use a cleaning. The size is 17" x 36".
I am selling this and other rugs for a long-time collector. He is not trying to make a profit from these. He is a wonderful older gentleman who wants his treasured collection to be loved by someone who appreciates their value as artwork. As he says, "I care about them!" None of his family wants (or needs) the collection, since they have so many rugs already due to his penchant for gifting them! He has been collecting since he was 16, growing up in South Dakota. As an adult, he used to drive around to the different reservation villages, ask around who did what, stop by the artists' homes or trading posts, and buy their creations, or he attended auctions.
Please ask any questions. If I cannot answer them, I will ask him and get back to you. I can take more photos on request.
