Description
1895 Spanish-American War USS MAINE Glass Reverse Litho Chain-Framed Print by F.N. Atwood. The rectangular pictures shows the Main on the open ocean, sailing past a sailboat. The Maine exploded at Havana Harbor on February 15, 1898, and popular opinion at the time blamed the Spanish for the Maine's demise, although the evidence was far from conclusive. Entire picture is framed by and hangs from a chain-link with a securing hoop at each corner. Measures 8" x 10". Beautiful condition! FN Atwood 95 Copyright 1898 by H.A. Wheeler.
